In case you've never heard of Fables: it's a graphic novels series by Bill Willingham, about various story-figures (Snow white, Big bad wolf, Cinderella, Pinocchio, you get the idea) who have been chased out of the Fable homelands to our world by a mysterious force called 'The adversary' (I won't spoil things by telling who this is). I really like this series, at the moment it's my favourite long-running comic series (yes, I prefer this over Buffy comics). _________________ Listening to you I get the music

That sounds interesting! Thanks for the heads-up ild, I'll keep a look out. _________________ "Your father was captain of a Starship for 12 minutes. He saved 800 lives - I dare you to do better."
I just watched the first episode of the American remake of Life On Mars. Did anyone watch the original one? I've been told it was really good. The American one seems pretty good, and I like the old music. _________________ some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose
OK, we made it. One work week until DOLLHOUSE!!! I am SO excited. I have even recruited a few friends to watch with me. My buddy, C, seems to be actually interested!!!!
This brings me to a question for all. Assuming that you have seen the trailers on FOX this weekend, they even showed them during the stockcar race Sat. night!
There is a big "From the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer" audible and text at one point. At first I relished in a rush of adrenaline but then began to worry. Do you think this might turn a lot of people off??? One of my friends seemed interested as I explained the premise and fan boyed out to the trailer but he immediately walked away as soon as they evoked Buffy's name.
Not sure his loss of interest was based on his knowledge of my obsession or not. _________________

That's a great question, beagle. Personally, I don't know that it'll hurt, but I see how it could. However, it is a show that everybody's heard of, at least, so that's something to say that people will recognize, at least. _________________

My girlfriend (before I showed her the greatness of Joss) was a fan of Dark Angel. The last few days she watched the second season of it alone, when I was working. Yesterday I joined her and we finished it. It was such a disappointment for both of us. I'm clear on that, that they didn't know that the series won't come back, so they set up a nice plot for the third season, but it was still too open ended, no closure for any of the lines. Also, the whole series is just so shallow, no real characters what so ever. I've only seen the pilot before this last three episodes, so I'm not the best person to critizes, but my girlfriend, who was a huge fan... well, now she thinks that the whole second season was pathetic. Espcially compared to Buffy.
After that we finished the third season of Buffy and it was such a relief to see, that people (to be more specific: Joss) can actually write characters and intense scenes and actors can actually play emotions (not like poor Jessica Alba, who has like two faces, the sad/emotionfulled one and the angry/fighting one.

Has anyone here ever seen My So-Called Life? In particular the Halloween episode. It's remarkably similar to I Only Have Eyes For You. _________________ some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose

Space: Above and Beyond was a show that ended after only one season of twenty-two episodes, and with a huge cliff-hanger too... they tried to wrap it up by making it look like the whole team/squadron was very likely wiped out except for two, but that didnt help the rest of the unresolved cliff-hanger any, which was obviously meant to set up an entire second season. The pilot episode was assisted by Village Roadshow, which later produced Independence Day. You can definitely see the influences. Co-creator/writer James Wong even has a 'cameo' appearance at the beginning of ID4.... (As he also worked on the X-Files, in the movie Fight the Future, the bathroom in the club is broken so Fox Mulder has to go in the alleyway in the back, and when he looks up at the wall, there's a faded or torn Independence Day poster there at eye-level....)
