Angel: After The Fall Issue 9 (SPOILERS)

Just finished reading issue 9.

Loved the back story for all the characters and the Fred/Illyria internal battle is interesting.

Liked the cliffhanger........is Illyria going to be able to bring Wesley back to being corporeal??

Am I the only one reading After The Fall.....surely not?

Oh, and I so cannot wait for the Spike: After The Fall issues!!

I've ordered the TPB from Amazon, it should arrive somewhere in the beginning of July.

What's the Spike: After the fall thing? I can't seem to find it on Amazon. Or are you talking about variant covers with Spike instead of Angel?
EDIT: Nevermind, found it: http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=149750

I received After the fall today (not the TPB, but the hardcover edition, with a really cool 3D-ish cover). I have several other things above it on my to-read list though (tales of the slayers/vampires, The host, Fables), so I'm not gonna start reading it for another 2 or 3 weeks.

It's funny what they did with season 6. I started reading it right after finishing season 5, and I didn't like the new developments: they were too far away from the show, and I prefered to have an undecided ending.
Of course, I was still curious enough to idly check the next issues. Until I hit issue #4, the one with the BIG revelation at the end... then I was totally hooked.
Now that the series has found its pace and we're getting used to its style (I mean, it took me seconds to recognize the characters when I read the first issue), almost every issue adds some incredible twist (I've read up to issue #11 and it doesn't stop!), and there have been some really hilarious lines and horrific moments. I love how the comic books stick to the inner truth of the Whedonverse: "Viewers, be careful what you wish for: your favourite characters might get it".

OK, no one seems to be posting here anymore (and anyway the title indicates this topic is only devoted to #9) but I have to say this: I just finished reading #15 and I seriously, deeply want to hit something.
It seems such a waste to have gone through so much pain to finally end "it" like that. To hell with melodrama!
Yes, Whedon is ruthless, shocking, painful, unfair... and as brilliant as ever.

I read the issues up to 8, I loved the First night issues, they were interesting and the Lorne part was very funny. Can wait to get my hands on the other issues as well. ALtough I agree that it is very hard to get used to the comic style, it so different and I was never a comic reader myself, so sometimes it's jsut seems to far from any kind of reality for me. But still it's very interesting.

I read the first collection, and wasn't too impressed, to be honest. I also have First night on the shelf, but haven't started yet.

I just received the 'Spike: After the fall' HC collection.

And today After the fall vol. 3 (issues 9-12). I just re-started AtF vol. 1.

Spike: After the fall was fun! Spike and Illyria doing the smoochies was somewhat unexpected though Razz.

And I re-read the first three After the fall hardcovers. My initial dislike for AtF is gone, it's quite a nice series now.

And After the fall 4 arrived today. It's getting a bit weird now though, with the timewarp stuff.

... and Aftermath (volume 5). I really like that Kate's back. Dez, the leopard-woman, is pretty cool too. Storywise it's a little bit slow, and I don't really like storylines about 'if X lived, in 20 years he would've killed lots of people'. What if it was his goal to kill those people, to avoid the end of the world? If you think like that, you can't do a thing anymore. Ridiculous example: because I just ate a sandwich, someone else won't be able to eat it, and starve to death, while she was supposed to bring world peace. So by eating this sandwich, I killed world peace. Every action (or non-action) is its own butterfly effect, and if you stop doing things because you're afraid of the effects, you've created a different effect.

Anyway, not the best Angel S6 volume, but still entertaining to read.

Is anyone else still reading this? (Mel? Wynter?)
