I decided that I just couldn't wait for the DVD to come out, so I've started downloading the last part of season 4 (it's airing on digital TV here in Oz, and I don't have digital). Also I kept accidently reading spoilers (especially on Twitter- honestly, what kind of inconsiderate person puts spoilers on their Twitter feed?), so I thought I'd just keep up to date so it couldn't be spoiled for me.
Here are my thoughts on each episode. I'll hide the spoilers by episode, so you can just read to whatever you're up to.
Episode 4.11:
Spoiler:
I was actually really disappointed in the last Cylon. I wasn't expecting it. I mean, I had suspected her ages ago when she first turned up, but not since she died. And even though I did think she was a Cylon at one point, that's not saying much really because I think I've suspected almost everyone on the show to be Cylons at some point (except for the Adamas, because that couldn't really work). I hope there is some reason they made Ellen the final Cylon though, and that it's leading somewhere. Because if they made it someone who was already dead just because they didn't want to turn any of the remaining characters into Cylons, then that would really suck. I doubt that's the case though.
Episode 4.12: A Disquiet Follows My Soul
Spoiler:
Man am I glad that sexual tension is finally outta the way.
Episode 4.13: The Oath
Spoiler:
Oh no, my favourite characters are turning against each other, this is so stressful. (I keep talking about my favourite characters, in case you're wondering, they are/were (as decided in about season 2, and I'm sticking with them): Starbuck, Helo, Athena, Tyrol, Anders, Cally and Gader.)
Of course I'm on the pro-alliance side, but I still like Gader. I think it's fits well with his character actually, he's always seemed really strong, even when he was just a minor character, but he's very unforgiving and seems to see the world in black and white a bit, as shown with the whole Baltar thing.
Not much of a cliffhanger really, since I'm pretty sure Adama and Tigh aren't going to be killed off like that.
Episode 4.14: Blood On The Scales
Spoiler:
SAM! Oh no! I hope he's going to be ok. Although I heard something about Michael Trucco who plays Sam getting smashed up in a car accident, don't know if that was before or after they finished shooting though.
This was a very tense episode, I think I broke my own record for the number of times I said "Holy frak!" in one episode. There may have also been an enthusiastic "Go Starbuck!" in there, because she was so awesome in this episode (and also because I am a total nerd).
I downloaded episode 15 this afternoon, so I will be watching it tonight.

omfrakking gawd what a DARK episode!
i knew from the opening frame of the previouslies that 'she' was gonna die in that episode, all those soppy flashbaccks was only ever gonna go that way. however i was almost beginning to doubt myself when she blew out them brains, what a shock. i guess it really drives home the sort of chaos and turmoil the humans are going thru in having their entire purpose undermined.
i have had SO many questions about this series since day one, and many of them are shaping up to be answered with the revelation that Earth and the 13th tribe were cylons, and that a 'chosen few' left in search of a new home. i'm not quite sure what that means in relation to how they came to be known as the final 5, or how the other 7 fit into this earth business. actually the more i think about it, very few of my questions will probably be answered.
one thing im not sure of, at this stage, is what the fuck is going on with the fifth final. i mean sure, Sol had a vision about who it was, but then what about starbucks resurrection? as beags said, wtfrak?
anyway cant wait to watch more, my geek friend has the first 4, so this weekend ill be here again.
if someone could let me know how to do spoiler tags, i'd be most grateful [/img]

episode 4.15
Spoiler:
I can't believe I never even noticed there was never a number 7 Cylon!!! I was kicking myself for never picking up on that. Now I'm so intrigued about Daniel. Obviously the writers were being so carefully ambiguous about what happened to him. He can't come back, I get that, because his DNA was altered. But is his altered form still about? Running around thinking it's human? Perhaps in the form of a well-loved character? Perhaps one who somehow came back from the dead and doesn't understand how?
If so then I will be yelling a triumphant 'I frakking knew it!'* Because I just kept thinking she was a Cylon, and I was so confused when she wasn't the final one. She just doesn't add up. (this is just my theory, I am probably completely wrong, because this show is hardly predictable)
And Sam, oh no, poor Sam. I hope he'll be ok. (my past experiences with television tell me that if he wasn't going to come back then he'd be properly dead, not lying in a hospital bed with no hope in sight. So I'm not too worried)
*For some reason BSG brings out the part of my personality that causes me to yell at the TV screen. I don't do that for other shows.

i think im three episodes past your last post, insaneitb, and im thouroughly confused. it was late, there was wine and possibly a herbal cigarette, etc etc, but geez i get the feeling that the writers are suddenly wishing they hadnt decided halfway during s3 that s4 would be the conclusion. so much ground to cover, so many questions to answer and so many nonviolent nerds on the brink of a composite event.
many questions about ellen, the final five and their flight from earth answered, but for every ansrwer, in true bsg fashion, 10 more questions arise.
need to rewatch.
anyone else with me?
Ebdim9th
I guess its possible to rewatch them all now on *snerk* SyFy? I think there's another hidden Cylon type out there... its the Jimi Hendrix model....

My internet got cut off on Friday. Apparently I had misplaced a bill and therefore failed to pay my account, but I'm pretty sure my internet provider deliberately cut me off RIGHT BEFORE the BSG finale was up for grabs online. I WAS NOT HAPPY.
But it's back up now and BSG is downloading as I write this.
This post has some sort-of spoilers if you haven't watched the rest of the show up until right before Daybreak pt 2.

I know what you mean. I have doubts that they could possibly answer all the questions I have in one episode. Will they find somewhere to live? Will Hera be rescued? Will Boomer decide to go good or bad? What happened to the thirteenth Cylon? Is Bob Dylan a Cylon? (maybe he's the thirteenth?) What's going to happen with the Cylon conflict? What's the deal with Kara Thrace? (maybe she's really Bob Dylan?) Will the "Old Girl" be blown to pieces or will she find a final resting place? Is Laura going to die? And will Adama go with her? Or will he go down with the ship like a good old fashioned captain? OMG what am I going to look forward to every week now that this is gone???!!!!!!
Seriously, they should just have a question and answer session instead of a finale.

Yes.

so say we all
Ebdim9th
Spoiler:
They couldn't wrap up everything in a finale, so theyre having another two hour episode telling everything from the Cylons' point of view so as to explain 'The Plan' that seemed to disappear from the opening of the show at some point.... Knockin' On Heaven's Doorwould somewhat fit Kara Thrace wouldn't it?
*repeats the chant back to Commander Cardboardy* "So say we all"

Holy gods here are some spoilers right here!
Spoiler:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
Yes. Yes. Good. Unexplained. I'm still not convinced. It's all happened before, it could all happen again. Nothin' but the rain. Both. Yes. Sort of. No. Cry?
