Buffy Quote GameWe used to do this on the other forum I was on and thought I would give it a try here....
I will type a quote from either Buffy or Angel and then the first person to post who said it and the episode it came from then does the next one and so on.....
I'll start and if no-one replies then well.....we can delete the thread.....no harm done!
Here is the quote:
"Heroes don't accept the world the way it is, they fight it"
beagle

Hey, this is cool. but i don't know the answer. I will guess, Angel, Angel episode 1.14

Re: Quiz...... | Mel wrote: | | "Heroes don't accept the world the way it is, they fight it" |
I think this is said by Spike, somewhere in the first few episodes of season 5 of Angel.

suggestion? This sounds fun, but I haven't seen all the Angel eps yet. I'm just starting season 3. Can I suggest a hint, maybe just whether it's from Buffy or Angel? If no one else agrees, that's okay. I'll just jump in when I recognize a quote. Carry on.

Mel

Oz in Surprise.
beagle

Mel, wins! Give us a good one Mel
Oz is so calm and cool
Oz. Yeah. Hey, did everybody see that guy just turn to dust?
WILLOW: Uh, well, uh... sort of.
XANDER: Yep. Vampires are real. A lot of them live in Sunnydale. Willow will fill you in.
WILLOW: I know it's hard to accept at first.
OZ: Actually, it explains a *lot*.
Mel
mmmm..a good one.
okay - here goes - one thats not too obvious I hope.
"I'd annialate her"
beagle

ah man, i'm not sure which episode but I believe it was Collin, "the annointed one" to the master in..... Never Kill a Boy on the First Date?

Right person, wrong episode....
Ant4buffy
it was colin in I robot, you jane i think.
Mel
it was Colin but it wasn't I Robot You Jane
Mullsen
It was in 'Angel' wasn't it? First scene? I have a more or less vague memory of this.
Mel
Thats the one Mullsen, the very first scene with The Master, Darla and Collin.
Your turn
Mullsen
Ok, how 'bout this one:
"We really are living in a golden age."
Sunnydalehigh
Wasn't that Xander in The Wish when he was watching the Master test his new assembly line to get human blood?
Mullsen
Yep, that's the one.
Your turn then.
Sunnydalehigh
Okay, I hope this one isn't too obscure:
"I'm making breakfast. You shouldn't eat anymore. You're disgustingly fat."
Also, a virtual pat on the back if you can also identify the source of my signature below.

'Kay, that was Joyce in Listening to Fear when she was crazy and cooking things in the middle of the night.
Your signature was Willow in The Zeppo when they were gonna burn the Sisterhood of Jhe bodies and Willow says "I brought marshmellows!" and everyone looks at her so then she says the thing about being 'callous and strange.' (exhale)

Nice one Magicbone! That was fast! My runner-up quote from that episode was "Is it hot? 'Cause if there's radiation you could go all sterile." Anya cracks me up. I just thought that the radiation thing would give it away.
Your turn.
MagicBone
Thanks. Anya's great.
Ok ... my turn. Let's see. love this one.
"That's enough with the creepy small talk."
I have that written on my dresser. : )

Jonathan to Spike in Superstar.

I am a quote freak - even have the book the Quotable Slayer which I will just refer to now......lol.
I am a bit of a trivia freak and love quizzes - I have over 50 buffy and Angel quizzes online at Fun Trivia if anyone is interested...my user name is Sunny_Mel so any quiz created by that name are mine.
Anyway - heres another:
"Now that was fun. It's been so long since I had a decent spot of violence. Really puts things in perspective!"

OK,
"some bands can play six, maybe, seven completely different chords"
bonus for the response
Sunnydalehigh
Oz to Willow in What's My Line, Part 1???
Mullsen
No, it's Oz to Devon in Doppelgangland (or however that's spelled), I think.
Sunnydalehigh
Oh yeah. I think it was a different chord conversation I was thinking of. When Oz is talking about that "man's chord" e flat diminished 7th or whatever. His arm is bandaged from when he was shot by one of the Order of Teraka (sp?).
beagle
Yes, Dopplegangland Mull. Does anyone remember Devons response.
Mullsen
Something like: "That's just like fruity jazzbands."
Is it my turn then?
Hmm....
Mullsen
Ok, got one:
"I'm not looking to hug and cry and learn and grow."
beagle
Yes, Mull you are a double winner! i think Devon says yeah, but that's just fruity jazz bands... right? looking all hopefull to Oz like if Oz says. "no, I can play 10 chords" devon's world will be shattered.... singers... Your turn Mul

Beckyxx

didnt faith say that in Concequences? (apologies for the bad spelling!!)

Is that from This Year's Girl? When he's in the alley with Giles and Xander?
cardboardy

when you say he, who do you mean (as if i dont know that you know!!)
and no... right season, wrong ep
MagicBone
Oh, yeah, Spike .... but wrong ep? Hmm.
Sunnydalehigh
Magicbone, you were so close! It's from Goodbye Iowa when all the Scoobies are at Giles' house and Buffy is telling Riley that Spike is "good now."
I've got the next one:
"Okay, first with the lap dance, now with the cat fight. Hey, wanna get drunk and barf next?"
cardboardy
oh thats brilliant!
ill have to think hard about it though.
MagicBone

That was Buffy in Him after Dawn gets in the fight with the girl in the alley by the Bronze

That's correct! You're a tough one to stump, Magicbone. Your turn again.

It's been like ten hours but ....
"William the Bloody now has insight into violence."

ok, I know I just watched that one, if I'm thinking correctly, from season 7, is it Buffy in Get It Done?
MagicBone

Everything but the episode somethingblue.
somethingblue
bugger, ok...let me think, I seriously just watched season 7!
somethingblue
Never leave me! Is that right, when Buffy and Spike are talking about him getting his soul back?
MagicBone
Yes! Yay Somethingblue! I have a tiny(ish) obsession with that episode. Okey-pokey. Your turn now.
somethingblue
Ok, I love this scene which includes the following quote:
"A muscle cramp? In your....pants?"
MagicBone
Oh, I love that one. I wanna say it ..... but I wanna see if anyone else'll get it.
somethingblue
MagicBone, I thought it'd be easy for you, but I love that quote (and that episode) so much, I had to throw it out there!
MagicBone
Well, if you insist.
It was Tara in Older and Faraway. And then Spike says "What? It's a thing."
somethingblue
Yeah! You're right! I lOOOVE Tara and Spike's exchanges in Older and Far Away, it makes me smile just thinking about 'em!
Your turn, smarty pants Magic Bone (said in a nice, fun not snotty way)
MagicBone
Okay ... let's see. How about:
"On a scale from one to ten, it sucked."
somethingblue
Was it Buffy in "Life Serial"?
MagicBone
Not so much.
Oh God no. My sister and her friend just got home from the elementary school Valentine's Day dance and I cannot get the TV loud enough to drown out the sound of them trying to pop to the Laffy Taffy song. : (

I'm sorry about that Laffy Taffy song.
I'm stumped on the quote. I now realize I was thinking about Life Serial when Buffy says to Spike "This night sucked. You were supposed to break heads and fix my life" or something to that effect.
MagicBone
Well, as we are like this (you can't see it but I'm doing the thing where you wrap your middle finger around your forefinger), I can tell you which one it was. It was Xander in Prophecy Girl to Willow about how asking Buffy to the Spring Fling went.
And the Laffy Taffy song is finally over.
somethingblue
I just looked it up on Buffyology, I would have never, ever gotten it, but once I read it, I remembered it...hmmmm...now that doesn't sound very smart, does it? But thanks for giving me the answer (because we're so tight!), I wouldn't have typed a response after looking it up, just not fair, you know? Your turn again...
MagicBone
I only knew it cause I wrote it on my dresser. I just realized how odd of a sentence that was.
Here's a good one: "What kind of lesbians are you? If you love men so much, go love men?!"
somethingblue
It's gotta be Anya but I don't know what episode that's from, maybe Triangle?
MagicBone
Yeah, it was definately Anya, but try the season after that.
somethingblue
Ok, if it's season 6, after Buffy breaks up with Spike, I've only seen those eps like twice, because I became despondent after they broke up (I'm SUCH a nerd) so I'm not sure which of those eps it is...gee, I suck at this!
somethingblue
And since I can't get any on my own, here's another one for you, MB, that I know you'll get, but it's a favorite of mine:
"Our love was eternal. Literally. You got any of those little marshmallows?"
And with that I'm off to bed for the night, just started watching Angel season 3, ready for disc 2.
Thanks for hanging with an old married on a Friday night, MB, been fun!!!
MagicBone
The post-Buffy/Spike eps are all lonely but that one's from Entropy when Anya's trying to get everyone to wish mean things about Xander. That was after her attempt with Willow and Tara.
somethingblue
Ahhh, Entropy, so sad, so sad. I may watch that one tomorrow after the Council Meeting!
MagicBone

Hee hee. Nighty night.

You are absolutely brilliant! And when Angel's at the door and Spike is crouching over Joyce's shoulder, making with the scary look, I love that!
Night Night!
MagicBone
That's the best. Spike and Angel together, always funny. Especially when Angel's all soulful. (Spike is always good.)
somethingblue

Here's a quote for everyone to try:
"Didn't anyone ever warn you about playing with pointy sticks? It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye."
Who said it and what episode is it from?

Buffy, dead man's party. I think she said it to Xander, who happens to lose his eye later...
somethingblue
Very, very good, ildjarn! Exactly right, Buffy says it to Xander. Your turn now!
Ant4buffy
If ildjarn comes back then he can post but i wanna keep this going cos i like the quote game.
Heres a new one:
"And the glorified brick-layer picks up a spare"
Mel
Xander in The Gift just after he hits Glory with the big building ball (dont know what it's called!)
I love this line - its one of those parts where I just love Xander.
MagicBone
In my PE class at school, we go bowling once every semester. I had this weird subconscious thing where I think that if I sing, I bowl better and I always sing the songs from Once More, With Feeling and anytime I get a strike or a spare or anything, I say that to whoever I'm bowling with. They think it's really annoying but I think it's hilarious. I love Xander right then. And plus, "what classier than bowling?" "Beside everything, ever?"
Sunnydalehigh
Magicbone, that is so funny! I am on a bowling league myself and my team always sings when we bowl! Every bowler has a theme song that we change the words to to make it bowling appropriate. I must say that I've never used a song from OMWF, but that's only because no one else would get it. But I just loaned that DVD with OMWF to one of my bowling buddies, so that may change. Everyone else on the league thinks we're all nuts. We even have different hand signals for strikes and spares. And we've given the pins names. It's nice to know we're not alone. We may still be nuts though!
To everyone else, sorry about going off topic here. I just got so excited!
MagicBone
That's so funny Sunnydalehigh. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sings. I always sing the OMwF songs, just because I've know all of them (and they make me happy). I always get to a climactic part, like "I think I was in heaven" or "It must be bunnies" or something and I'll bowl a strike or something. Which lends weight to my whole Buffy constantly finds ways to make everything better theory.
Sunnydalehigh
| MagicBone wrote: | | I always get to a climactic part, like "I think I was in heaven" or "It must be bunnies" or something and I'll bowl a strike or something. |
I am totally going to try that! We bowl on Wednesday nights, so I'll have to wait until next week. I can't believe I never thought of that before. I've been listening to the OMWF soundtrack (which I just bought last month) in my car on the way to bowling, so those tunes are in my head all the time anyway. Buffy makes everything better! I will be Sunny the Pin Slayer next week!
