Complete Re-Watch

I am going to have a complete re-watch starting in about 5 minutes if anyone wants to join me.

We could all start at the same time and then post what episodes we watched and our thoughts at watching them again,

I am also gonna copy Beags and change my avatar daily to reflect where I am! So as you can see I am just about to watch WTTH!

I am really looking forward to this as I have not watched any Buffy for such a long time!
BepperGirl

Have fun! It'd be weird for me to do a rewatch so soon after finishing, lol.
Mel

Well I have really rocked the Buffy today and I am so not done!

had a lovely lazy day and I am now onto The Puppet Show (check the avi beags LOL).

It's so weird after not watching in a while going back to season 1 and here are a few wee things so far:

- The cast - how young do they all look?
- Cannot believe the season I am watching was first shown about 12 years ago!
- Does anyone else think that the scene were Luke is kneeling before The Master and is going to bite his wrist looks like a scene from a really cheesy porn movie!  The way he is on his knees and is looking up into The Masters eyes and then goes for it.............maybe thats just me and my very bad imagination Sad
- David Boreanaz just gets more hotter as he gets older.
- Xander looks so cool and really hot in the zoom in to him in The Pack

Just a few wee pointers while I am on a 10 minute break.

Going to go back to The Puppet Show now.

OK Mel, Where you be??  You have to be close to catching me, but maybe not. I had a marathon this weekend and watched 13 episodes so I am up to End of Days now. Can't wait for S1.
In the middle of that I finished the last 6 eps of Angel S5. This is my third rewatch for Angel and I enjoyed S5 so much more than ever before.
That made 19 buffyverse episodes in one weekend.
OK, not quite in the swing of the bachelar life yet but a guy could get used to this.
Mel

I am still pretty much stuck on S2

Been a bit busy recently and I have also been not very well.

Will definately be getting back into it soon.

I started a rewatch a little while ago, and just finished season 2 today. I haven't watched any Buffy for ages, so I'm being very excitable about everything I'd forgotten.

Spike's great as a big bad, I'd kinda forgotten just how much I love him when he's evil. Also liking seeing Angelus back... I love him as Angel, but he makes a mean bad guy. (:

Some of the episodes I don't like as much as others (still great, but not as great) I enjoyed more this time round, because they have some good jokes and little stuff like that that I haven't seen for a really long time.

Lovin' the Buffy. I might even go and watch Anne now.
Mel

I have been listening to various songs that were in Buffy today and then the OMWF soundtrack and it has totally made me want to rock on some Buffy.

I am continuing with my re-watch tonight........Angelus here I come Wink
beagle

Mel! I'm back around to Angelus. Thought of you this morning when I watched Passion.  RIP Jenny Calandar.

OOhhhhh, we are gonna be at the same episodes soon.
dramagirl

Just passed The Body... still such a powerful episode.  Made me cry yet again.

Oooo, ooo I am casually re-watching! What's My Line (Part 1) is playing right NOW! Also, I just suggested trivia for the first time in, oh, over a year because of this. Principal Snyder says to Xander "Whatever comes out of your mouth is a meaningless waste of breath. An airborne toxic event." I was surprised that no one had commented on this yet, but one of my current favorite tunes (I'm an avid Alt Nation listener on Sirius satellite radio) is Sometime Around Midnight by The Airborne Toxic Event. Hmmm, wonder where the band got that title.

Oh, and Buffy kissing Angel while he's vamped out on the skating rink is just, well HOT! Wink

FAITH!  , God, how I've missed you.
Obviously I am up to Faith, Hope, and Trick

You have went right past me again.....what is wrong with me LOL
beagle

Am up to Gingerbread.  I really like the message in this episode.
Just like real life.
1. A tragedy occurs.
2. Everyone freaks out.
3. We stand in line to give up our freedoms so that this anomaly never happens again.
Mel

I have started again LOL

My son has been watching Buffy on FX during the day and he asked me if he can watch with me at night so I started from where I was and got a few episodes in tonight with the promise that we will watch more tomorrow night.
beagle

U C Sunny D!
does anyone know the UCS'dale mascot???
beagle

I have just been flying through btvs this month. Am up to A New Man which is just one of my all time faves.
Watched Fear Itself a few days ago and I just love watching the halloween episodes when it's close to halloween.  Got me a pumkin and am going to carve it.  Thinking about staying at home, playing the halloween episodes and handing out candy to the little extortionists.
dramagirl

Up to season 7 again, and I'm slowing down a bit.  Andrew is even more awesome than I remembered, and Spike's being all insane... it's really weird to think that this all came from season 1, with their very first apocalypse.  It always surprises me just how much they grow up over the whole series.

Smile

Ok, Am up to Checkpoint and think I'll stop until after Thanksgiving and my marathon. Both Checkpoint and The Body are on my list for the marathon so good stopping point to re-charge my Buffy batteries.
This will be my first Thanksgiving away from my ex in 20 years so I have accepted an offer to spend the holiday with a close friends family, at least the dinner time. So my marathon schedule will be interrupted but as much as I don't want to do that I believe it is the best thing. Setting around watching Buffy and drinking all day probably isn't a good idea considering my situation.
More on the marathon to come!

This year I really tried to approach this with little sense of propriety. I just picked what I wanted to watch. Mostly I picked because the way they feel to me.
Overall, an abbreviated list over the past years from 20 down to 15 episodes with one 1st time appearance by Pangs.
I guess I'm getting old.

While watching Crush I kept getting the strongest sensations of dejevu. I mean, it was like I had just watched it the day before and I haven't seen it for at least 6 months. I can't figure it out, it was just too familiar. I think maybe I watched it in my sleep, sleep walking or something.

I need to do a re-watch, and how! But Double Meat - yeessh - it's so gross, really. The only part I like is Spike walking into the Double Meat palace and talking all sexy to Buffy!  Twisted Evil
marvin21st

Thats my favorite part too.
beagle

I want to say that I love the scene in Sleeper, at the bronze where Spike fights the female vamp. I love how it's shot and  how it sounds. How the music is edited and how the band stops and starts back. How they tie the music and musical performance to the action.
Plus later Amie Mann gets a hilarious line off stage.
"Man, I hate playing vampire towns"
Mel

I have been so bad lately.....my son has overtaken me in a rewatch.  he has suddenly become a Buffy addict!

I have just had that many other programmes to watch that I havent been watching any of my boxsets.

I have to get my Buffy head on.
beagle

I did somthing I havn't did before. I finished s7 one day and started s1 the next.  God, I love the early seasons.
greengirl00

I need to start a rewatch... I just don't have the time right now though. I have schoolwork, and any spare time I do get I'm not watching Buffy.. Something must be done!
DarthRosenberg

Okay, I don't want to start it from the dinosaurs, but... I've been together with my girlfriend for one and a half year now and she always have tought that I'm very nice and everything, but this Buffy thing.... well, it made her really thinking about my mental health. Of course she only saw like one or two half episodes without knowing anything about anything. And then when we came to England (of course I brought the whole series, Angel too) I kept talking about Buffy and how I wanted to do a rewatch. One day she said, "okay, let's give it a try, I promise I'm not gonna laugh... too hard". Anyway, we watched the first episode and then she requested another and another. In three days we finished the whole first series. The rest is history, since than, she thinks that Joss is the world's biggest genius, yesterday (we doing a second rewatch, we are at season 3, Lovers' walk) she said that someone really should make a saint out of Joss. Smile
Point is, season 3 has always been my favourite season, such good episodes in a row... Homecoming, Band candy, Lovers' walk, The wish... so on.
greengirl00

Aww, I'm glad she's converted. It's always fun when that goes well
DarthRosenberg

Not just fun... it is sort of satisfying, you feel all justified when other (new) people realizes that you were not wrong at all...
And it also kinda good to open more and more people's eyes to Joss' work.
