i voted for giles this time, i think last time i voted for buffy.
this rewatch giles has been the quiet anchor for so many episodes. i know this changes as the series evolves, but his onscreen presence, and the warmth and richness of his character, his heart, his lines, the complexities of the relationships he has with EACH and EVERY character, his constant eating and getting knocked out, his characters journey from tweed to regular denim and tony head's acting (shouldnt count in a character poll but i cant help it)
giles all the way (today anyway)...

Hmm, I guess it's the bad boy thing.
We should be allowed a list of 3 fav characters, really. I had to go for Spike because well, I totally fall for the bad boy thing, but that means I didn't really have to choose... if he hadn't been listed, I would probably have taken more time to think about it because all the characters have something really great and loveable (which is why the show stayed on for so long, I guess).
If Spike was out, I'd vote for Giles, for all the reasons Cardboardy mentioned above. And then maybe Xander, because he's sadly under-represented and because he's just a wonderful person. His speech to Dawn in Potential just tore my heart, and at the same time I loved him so much for it. (Seven years, Dawny... They will never know what it is to be the one who is NOT chosen.)

I voted Spike... but it could easily have been Will or Xander. It's so hard to choose! They all have something that makes them great characters.
