... and that ended a VM marathon. I started watching S1 on thursday (although I bought the first half of S1 a few weeks ago, I waited watching until I got the rest of the season too), and just finished watching it. One word, three letters: Wow. And now some more words: That was great! Not every episode was equally good (I didn't like 'Weapons of class destruction' at all), but the overall level was really high, I thought.
A few things:
- I found out I had seen the first 10 episodes (well, episode 2-10 and the last 5 minutes of the pilot) before, for some reason I thought I had seen less. After 1.10 was broadcasted on TV, I wasn't home on the days BNN broadcasted it, and when I finally was able to watch again, it had disappeared. Only a few weeks later, I found out they had moved it to a different time, one where I was never home anyway.
- I didn't expect that killer.
- I didn't expect that rapist either.
- Mac is cool! I like blue haired girls (Illyria, and now Mac...). I checked the IMDB pages, and found out she appears a lot more in the other 2 seasons, so I'm looking forward to that.
- Hottest Veronica moment: That '80s party. She may have hated that outfit, I loved it. Guess it's my goth girl fetish....
- Most touching moment: This may sound weird, but Mandy tasing Hans.
The first half of S2 will be released half august, but I'm gonna wait with watching until I have the second half too.

Yes, Veronica is one of the toughest chicks / persons to grace the small screen ever. I am just getting to S3, up to episode 10 and loving it to death. Forgot how good is was.
And yes, blue haired girls, Mac, awesome.
NotFadeAway
Veronica Mars is the stone nuts. It's awesome that you have the chance to watch it.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou BepperGirl for getting me into Veronica Mars. If you hadn't been saying how good it was I probably never would have watched it, and now I'm completely addicted. It's not at all what I expected.
One of the best shows I've ever seen.

Any time, insane, any time

Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell had a meeting to discuss a Veronica Mars movie yesterday, here's the link to an article:
And it asks you to leave a comment to show your support.

S3 Disc 4 and 5 to arrive today!
ildjarn
I bought the first half of S2 yesterday, unfortunately there's no release date yet in NL for the second half, or for S3....
insaneinthebasement
Season 2 won't be released in Oz until next month, I was going to wait, but I am too impatient and I watched it at Surf the Channel.
So good!

Still haven't watched this, but it's on my list. I have all 3 seasons, so hopefully soon!

You'll absolutely love it. Veronica Mars is the nuts.
beagle
OK, I'm to the last disc and boy does V have a pickle....
dramagirl
I've always wanted to watch Veronica Mars, but never had enough money or there was something else I wanted to buy, but it's next on the list. Plus, I only just found out that our DVD player can play region 1 DVDs, and that's the only region I've found the DVDs in.

There are R2 DVDs nowadays (I have the Dutch ones for S1 and half S2), but no British release yet, I think.

What?
Spoiler:
Season 3, the last season, didn't end? crap... I watched the last ep and was like, I can not wait to see how the Mars get out of this mess. The next disc comes and there's nothing but special features on it... Arrrrrrghhhh!!!!
ildjarn
The last episode is 3x20 (The bitch is back).

How annoying is it!
Spoiler:
I got to the end and I couldn't believe there was no more. The characters were so up in the air and they were just going to stay like that. I think I nearly cried.
Fingers crossed they make a movie or something.

You're right of course. The problem is that the CW canceled the show too late to do anything about the end of the season. Therefore, there's no 'finale' to the show.
beagle
Spoiler:
Yes, the Mars were in a big pickle. the last disc had a good part of a previously shot S4 episode where V is in the FBI and it was really good.
ildjarn
S2 part deux is going to get released halfway October, so expect a review somewhere end of October!
BepperGirl
They actually knew enough in advance that 3x20 was going to be the finale (well, at least the season, not totally sure how absolutely certain they knew it was going to be the last season and thus series finale) because...
Spoiler:
Season 3 was meant to have 3 arcs. Rape arc for 9 episodes, murder arc for 7 episodes, and some unknown arc where Wallace and Mac were supposed to be pretty important for 6 episodes. Then the CW shortened the season so the murder arc was shortened by an episode and instead of cramming the Wallace and Mac arc into 5 episodes, they decided to scrap it and make it 5 standalones.

Crap, I always said, more Mac please.

Agreed, though I'd be even more disappointed in not seeing more Wallace. His being so greatly underused was a huge error of season three.

I agree. Yes, they seemed to stray from the friends angle. Although the further development of the father daughter relationship was really good.

Okay,
I owe you guys an apology. When I read previous posts about Veronica Mars I rolled my eyes and shrugged it off, just assuming it was a Buffy rip off but I am here today to tell you all - You were right, I was wrong.
It is one of the most addictive shows - EVER!!!
I caught my boyfriend watching it 2 weeks ago and laughed at him, 30 minutes later I was hooked and couldnt wait for the next episode.
He was watching season three (which we have stored on our digital/cable box) and within days season one fell onto our matt. He ordered it from the U.S. God bless multi region DVD players!
Season One is amazing!
* I cannot believe how calm she was regarding her rape!
* I cannot believe who actually raped her!!
* There was something weird about the murderer from the beginning so I wasnt really THAT suprised!
* Her wardrobe rocks!
* Mac is the best, geek chic is the wasy forward!
* I'm developing a crush on Logan - someone shoot me!
Just waiting for Season Two in the post! =]
BepperGirl
Never doubt VM's goodness.. especially when it comes with Joss Whedon's approval!
TwoToGo-Grave
Yay for Becky turning to the VM side.
It's great that you like it, and I bet you'll love season two just as much.
Oh, and very well said BG.

Veronica Mars is the nuts. Anyone who sees it has to become addicted. It's just amazing.
ildjarn
Second half of season 2 will be released on October 15th in the Netherlands, so I'm gonna start watching S2 then. No idea when S3 will be released yet.
BepperGirl
Hope you enjoy season 2 as much as season 1, ildjarn.
Beckyxx
I just finished Season Two.
It came in the post a couple of weeks ago and its all I have been watching.
What a total shock right at the end! I never assumed that person was evil let alone anything else!
I like how it all links back to the first season too.
Oh, so good!
ildjarn
I started S2 on friday (the second half of S2 arrived on wednesday and I first finished X-files S5), and watched 7 episodes so far. The story about the bus crash is less gripping than the story about Lilly, but I like the season anyway.
Oh, and I love the Air song played at the end of episode 7.

A lot of people have said that.

I do, too. Such a good scene!
And I know, right, Becky? It's like WOW! But when you look back, you see all sorts of hints. Hindsight is hindsight, isn't it?
ildjarn
Hmm. Finished S2 yesterday. And I don't like it as much as the first season. Too many loose ends, too far-fetched conclusion, and I don't like how they ended the Aaron Echolls storyline at all. So where my mark for S1 was an 8.5 (on a scale of 1-10), S2 gets only a 6.5/7.
BepperGirl
Aw. I hear that a lot though, ildjarn. I'm guessing you'd like season 3 even less if you didn't particularly care for season 2. But there are still some excellent episodes, so hopefully you'll get the chance to watch some day..
In other news, at my internship today, we (this guy Trevor who is sort of my immediate supervisor and I) were looking for songs to use for this thing I'm making for my reel. Anyway, Trevor had transferred some of his songs onto a laptop so that's where we were looking. And I saw there was a 46Bliss song. Didn't know what it was at first 'cause I didn't open the folder, but eventually curiosity got the best of me and I saw that the album was "Veronica Mars Unofficial Soundtrack Season 1." So I obviously commented to Trevor, "You like VM?" Turns out he was trying to download some Beatles collection, but somehow he got VM songs. He had never heard of the show, but listened to the music and liked a fair amount of them so kept them, hehe. One of them being "The Way You Are" (which was the song at the end of "Silence of the Lamb" btw) and that's how he has that song yet not knowing of VM. I of course tried to pimp the show to him, too. Hee.

The good things about S2:
- Logan is much more likeable.
- More Mac! Although I have to admit I liked her blue hair more than her red hair...
- I like Dick Casablancas. As Logan states: "You're not a very complicated person, are you?".
