Okay going for the more obvious choice (as per shot refers to someone getting shot):
Is it "The Thin Dead Line"?
1. Wes gets shot.
2. Angel, unbeknownst to Gunn, Cordy and Wesley, rescues them all by breaking the the glass jar/ zombie thingy.
3. sacrifice??? maybe the way the "whole" team help Anne without asking for money? (not sure with this point?)

Hey Mel... Do you remember which Episode it was...?

Could it be: Not Fade Away

1. Lorne shoots Lindsay (unexpected)
2. Conner comes to Angels rescue sort of... Also Illyria tries to rescue Wes..which brings me to the last point)
3. Wes gives to ultimate sacrifice... (he dies in Illyria's arms).
