I saw Seven Pounds at the weekend. Was very good but I don't think it'd be one I would see again. As Insane said - it didn't spell out everything (as I found myself in the first half of the film being very confused about what the connection with these people were). Good film though. 7/10.
Insane - I've seen Changeling - its amazing. Superb film. Long - but great. _________________
Role Models - The story was nothing groundbreaking, and okay, it was predictable, but there was enough heart and humour in this movie to make it quite enjoyable for me. The four main cast members were awesome, Paul Rudd deserves more recognition because his deadpan delivery is just hilarious! And Sean William Scott was solid as always. It didn't rely on too many stupid jokes for the laughs, and there were good one-liners, I really liked this!
Rating: 7/10
The Wrestler - Um, holy crap. Mickey Rourke's performance was just PHENOMENAL, and I really don't think anyone else could've played this part but him, because the whole "comeback" notion resonates his own story, and purely for the physical aspect. He really made it easy to empathise with his character. Also, it was a very gritty, real drama, helped by the muted colours. Quite a bleak watch overall, and the ending left me frustrated and sad, but it was good!
Rating: 8/10
My Bloody Valentine 3D - I freaking loved it, and as someone who's usually s**t-scared of horror films, this is quite big XD But seriously, it was a great throwback to the old slasher movies, and met every requirement it should as one of those types of films - blood, gore, jumps, suspense, sex/nudity :-P, laugh-out-loud moments, even some cheese! And the performances were great, especially Jensen Ackles and Kerr Smith. Loved the twist at the end too, I didn't see it coming at all. Just great fun!

Once - So sweet. It's a simple story of two people meeting and bonding over their love of music, and falling in love along the way, and there's just no other way to describe it, other than it's unexpectedly heartwarming. And the music in it (all original songs) is lovely. The ending was bittersweet and a bit sad, but it's definitely worth a watch, especially for those who like realistic romance.
Rating: 10/10
Valkyrie - Another solid delivery from Bryan Singer, and a really interesting portrayal of Stauffenberg and that particular plot to kill Hitler. It was quite a powerful, tense and suspenseful film, and even though you knew what was coming, it was a bit emotional at the end. Also, I hate Tom Cruise with a passion but he was good in this, and the rest of the cast and their performances were great.
Rating: 8/10
Seven Pounds - It felt a bit disjointed and long in the middle, but it was a really good movie. I thought it was interesting that they didn't give away the surprise until fairly late on in the film, when the pieces actually began to fit and more of Ben's secret and intentions made sense. But even then, I didn't see the thing that he did coming. It was so heartbreaking and sad! Another awesome performance from Will Smith.

Wynty - nice reviews - can you score them as well possibly cos if i haven't seen the film i don't read reviews but it would be interesting to see what number you give it out of ten and then come back for the detailed review after i've seen the film.
Slumdog Millionaire
Thought it was good but quite predictable. Felt a little disjointed but I may have enjoyed it more if someone at work hadn't ruined the beginning kind of twist for me.
7/10
Frost/Nixon
Brilliant. Michael Sheen is amazing in both the roles I've seen him in. Not knowing anything about Watergate (yes I know) I didn't understand a small portion of it (my girlfriend filled me in on the scandal) but it was well paced and enjoyable.

Sure thing Ant, I will do! But just so you know, I don't give anything spoilery away in those mini-reviews so you'd be safe to read them before seeing films ;-) If you wanted! _________________ "Your father was captain of a Starship for 12 minutes. He saved 800 lives - I dare you to do better."
We borrowed a film from a fried the other day called Zoolander. I'd never even heard of it before, but it was absolutely hilarious. And very silly. _________________

Dead Like Me: Life After Death and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are my latest viewings.
I dont watch many movies twice, or three times, or more, but so far both are worthy.... _________________ "Driveshaft... more like Suckshaft!" - Johnny LOST

Let the Right One In
Wonderful and touching vampire movie from our friends in Sweden. I can't wait to see a subtitled version. The one I saw was dubbed.
This is the best film I've seen in years.
