%&*@@!!! I cant believe they're cancelling Life on Mars! I was just starting to get bowled over by it. It was an exceedingly worthy follow-up to LOST. Now it's lost. _________________ "Driveshaft... more like Suckshaft!" - Johnny LOST

its pretty good! loved the joss cameo and 'frak is the profanity of the future.'
up to ep 4 s3 and a little disappointed about what may or may not be this seasons mystery arc, but i think the scriptwriting has improved if that was even possible

Last week I finished watching Nana, an anime. It's about two girls, both called Nana (seven in Japanese) who meet in the train to Tokyo, and later when they're looking for a place to live. They decide to share an apartment, although they are total opposites: Nana Osaki is a punk singer, and Nana Komatsu is a flighty girl who falls in love with every boy she meets.
I really really liked this show. It's not very spectacular to watch, but it is written in such a way that I really liked both girls.
I've ordered the first issues of the manga too.
And I'm on a Ghibli rewatch. So far I've seen:
- Nausicaa of the valley of the winds
- Laputa, castle in the sky
- My neighbour Totoro
- Kiki's delivery service
- Only yesterday
The last one, probably Ghibli's least known movie, is my personal favourite. It's about a woman of 27 who goes to the countryside to work in the fields during the summer, and while working there she remembers the days when she was 10. It's a really charming and quiet movie.
Kiki's delivery service is my second favourite, about a 13 year old witch who goes to town to grow up. Because flying is the only thing she's good at, she starts a delivery service. Again, a really quiet and slow-paced movie, but Kiki and Jiji (her cat) are just perfect in their innocence.
