It does seem a little nuts, ya know like why do that. But I think all the other Angels are turned around and he was just turning that one so they are all the same, which doesn't seem as nuts as turning it for no reason. Or did everyone know that all the Angels were turned around and still thought it was nuts OR am I wrong about the other angels already being turned around.

OMG, season 7 is just, well, I wouldn't say the best season, but that's just because every season of Buffy is incredible. Season 7 gave the show the ending it deserved.

One of the episodes I remind best is the one where Buffy starts teaching the potentials. What she says at the end, when she has deveated the monster, is just memorable: "End of lesson one". And everybody is just amazed about how she did that, about how she killed the bad guy. Amazing. Oh, and the scene where Buffy and Willow talk without speaking, you know, where Willow is in Buffy's head and says "Can you hear me?" Just great!

I am now halfway trough season 6, can't wait to see S7 again, might watch one ep tonight (the one described here).

I also love season 7, but I find that I don't usually have the patience to watch the whole episodes. I often fast forward to my favourite scene(s) in the episode, which I never do with the earlier seasons. I'm a bit like Faith and Buffy actually : whenever the Potentials are around, I feel like going to the basement for a chat with Spike --who appears in most of those scenes I was referring to. (And we're surprised because....?)
My absolute favourite is his speech in the church in Beneath You. Boy, I almost know it by heart, but every time I watch it, I stop breathing until the ending credits and then go "wow."
On the contrary, I am still unable to re-watch the ending scene in Chosen. I usually cut right after Buffy says "Spike" and pretend that's the end. I can (barely) bear to watch Spike and Anya die horribly, but I hate that everybody starts making jokes right afterwards.
Even though it's a time of triumph and the very last scene in the series, the tone should have been more... mixed, I guess. As a finale, Becoming Part 2 managed to blend the Scoobies' joy and Buffy's tragedy much better.

I agree about the church scene in Beneath You, it's also one of my favourites ever. It's just so powerful and effective, and JM shone - I love how he goes from smart-ass vampire to vulnerable, lost little boy in the space of 2 minutes, and just how believable he made the transition. It shows how nuts he is but also just how much the soul has affected him, and how much pain he's in. My heart breaks for him, seriously. Love! Gah, that was some fucking awesome writing.

I also agree about the lack of compassion for dead Anya and Spike. I think Spike deserves so much more, considering he sacrificed himself to save everyone, and considering all of the Scoobies were sceptical and didn't fully trust him, especially Giles.
